we are always practicing something.
The question isn’t whether practice is occurring, but whether we are consciously participating in what that practice is shaping.
Conscious participation doesn’t require perfect awareness or uninterrupted presence. It asks us to become increasingly attentive to how we are meeting experience and to recognize that the way we participate helps shape what follows.
conscious participation
the art and practice of attention
yoga
The philosophical and practical roots of GPY are grounded in yoga.
Yoga also offers a profound study of attention, perception, identification, relationship, and the movements through which experience becomes organized. It asks what obscures clear seeing, how patterns become established, and what becomes possible when the instrument of body, breath, and mind grows steadier and more available.
I bring these teachings into conversation with lived experience. Instead of requiring someone to adopt a specialized language before they can begin, I explore how these movements can be recognized within ordinary life: in a thought we believe immediately, a pattern we continue repeating, a conversation we anticipate, an identity we defend, or a direction we say matters but struggle to move toward.
The intention isn’t to simplify yoga until its depth is lost. It’s to make its inquiry available through the human experiences in which it’s already occurring.
the
architecture
GPY is a living framework for conscious participation.
It grew through my own experience, practice, teaching, and study as a way of understanding the movements through which we meet and shape experience.
State — where we are standing within experience
Orientation — what is giving direction to our participation
Attention — what is being gathered, scattered, or obscured
Relationship — how we meet what comes into contact with us
Practice — what is reinforced and gradually shaped through repetition
The framework is something we can understand. Conscious practice is something we learn to live.
the practice of returning
the practice is simple.
Not easy. But simple.
Slow down.
Gather yourself.
Return to what is true.
Again. And again. And again.
if you’ve found your way here…
You may have arrived because attention feels scattered, because a familiar pattern has become visible, or because the way you have learned to move through life no longer feels true.
You may have encountered many teachings about awareness and transformation but still be learning how to live what you understand.
Or you may simply be curious about what becomes possible when we meet ourselves and our lives with greater wonder, honesty, and care.
You don’t need to begin with the entire framework.
Begin with the question that is alive for you. Read a reflection. Listen to an episode. Meet the breath you already have. Choose a practice you can genuinely enter.
Allow understanding to deepen through conscious attention, relationship, and repetition.
nothing essential is missing.
What scatters can be gathered.
What obscures can be seen.
The invitation is to learn how to return.
My name is Veronica
I am a writer, teacher, podcast host, and founder of Gathering Pieces of you exploring attention, embodiment, and the nature of lived experience through direct practice.
I don’t teach from the outside.
I teach from within the practice itself.
Gathering Pieces of You isn’t something I’ve completed. It’s something I’m continually living, questioning, refining, and sharing as it continues to unfold.
We are always practicing something.
The question isn’t whether practice is occurring, but whether we’re participating consciously.
