Gathering Pieces of You is a living framework for cultivating a more conscious relationship with experience.
It explores how state, orientation, attention, relationship, and practice shape the way we meet ourselves, others, and the world… and how learning to participate consciously in those movements changes the experience of being human.
We don’t lose ourselves all at once.
We gradually lose conscious participation through the movements that quietly organize experience.
Attention becomes scattered.
Orientation becomes inherited instead of examined.
Familiar relationships become unconscious patterns.
Practice establishes what repetition makes familiar.
Over time…
these movements become so ordinary that we begin mistaking them for who we are.
But before attention gathers, something is already orienting it.
state
But even before orientation begins directing attention, there is the field through which experience is being received.
we call this state.
State isn’t simply how we feel. It’s the condition of the instrument through which life is encountered. The same moment can be lived from fog or clarity, contraction or openness, reactivity or gathered.
The event may be the same.
The field is different.
Attention is more than focus.
It’s one of the primary movements through which experience becomes organized.
But attention never moves alone.
It’s influenced by orientation. It shapes relationship. Through repetition it becomes practice.
And practice continually shapes the state from which life is experienced.
conscious participation
the practice of returning
The practice is simple.
Not easy. But simple.
Slow down.
Gather yourself.
Return to what is true.
Again. And again. And again.
If you’ve found your way here…
something in you may already recognize this:
Nothing essential is missing.
What has become scattered can be gathered.
What has become obscured can be seen.
What has become automatic can become conscious again.
This isn’t the practice of becoming more.
It’s the practice of returning.
My name is Veronica
I am a writer, teacher, practice mentor, podcast host, and founder of Gathering Pieces of you exploring attention, embodiment, and the nature of lived experience through direct practice.
I don’t teach from the outside.
I teach from within the practice itself.
Gathering Pieces of You isn’t something I’ve completed. It’s something I’m continually living, questioning, refining, and sharing as it continues to unfold.
We are always practicing something.
The question isn’t whether practice is occurring, but whether we’re participating consciously.
